  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role provides me with a very interesting mix of responsibilities from digital marketing and content creation to strategic insights and commercial planning which keeps day to day activities varied and engaging. My role sees me interact with colleagues from across the business, encouraging collaboration, to bring the most up to date, accurate and relevant information to our customers.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Through my apprenticeship I have been empowered to explore and actively apply new and traditional ideas, theories and models to my day to day activity. Some of this isn't new, but having the encouragement to apply them and the ability to delve deeper into them has allowed me to unlock new benefits and understanding I can bring to my role.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have been undertaking an eMBA. I have very much enjoyed the programme so far and have personally found great benefit in the content and structure that I think will certainly benefit me in my future endeavors. One cautionary comment, the work load is quite significant so do make sure you are committed to the course.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme runs very much like a typical university course with clear modules, activities and deadlines which is all set out so you can plan your time ahead. With any apprenticeship however you must also consider the portfolio work that runs along side this and you need to be proactive to make sure you plan to complete the work required alongside the university course. We do have coaches that help navigate this activity, which does make things easier, but you need to own it!

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer has been very supportive of me in undertaking an apprenticeship. They understood the benefit this would bring to me personally and professionally and the benefit it would bring to the organisation. I have regular catch ups with my line manager to discuss progress, challenges and time and have been able to build a network of colleagues in the organsiaiton going through similar experiences with whom I can discuss ideas and course content.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We have a dedicated course coach and have quarterly check ins as a standard but they are available to support via email or set calls to discuss any issues or challenges. The programme leader also arranges drop in sessions regularly for students to drop in and discuss any issues. I have always felt that I have the support around me to face any challenges I face during the course.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I made a transition in roles during the course and without the knowledge I had picked up to that point I don't think I would of had the confidence or knowledge required to take the new role. I believe the skills I am learning through this course are taking my abilities to the next level and unlocking new opportunities for me.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • In my role I am not based on a specific site - I do see local activities and clubs advertised on sites but find it difficult to engage with those. There have been various virtual events or wellbeing activities that I have benefitted from which can even be as simple as setting 30 mins for a coffee with a colleague for a check in.
