My role as an assistant manager is to ensure to look after and schedule a team of over 100 employees. I ensure that the day to day running of the business is to a high standard and fix any problems that occur on the shift. I ensure all crew and customers are looked after amd inderstood
Through doing the apprenticeship I have gained more confidence in my own abilities and have also learnt more in depth about the business side of the job. It has made me have more passion for the job that I do and makes me want to work hard in order to be ready to take the next step in my career.
I enjoy the programme that I am doing as going to university is something that I have always wanted to do but never knew what I really wanted to study. Doing this through work and earning whilst I learn is a great opportunity for me and allows me to have the best of both worlds
My programme is very well structured and the staff are always there to help if needed. The lessons for each section of the course are all online and can be accessed at any time. This is useful for myself as I am always on the go and have different shift patterns each week
The support I receive is okay, I feel as though I get the support that I need in a way that they think that it is good for me to go through with it. When it comes to time off of the job to do work at work then it can become tricky purely due to the amount of work I complete
From the provider we get a lot of support especially as I get perks from the university and then really helping you with whatever you need. A lot of the help is online which is also good as Manchester is around 2 hours away from me so it helps with everything being accessible online
I think that by doing this course I will broaden my thinking when it comes to being on the shop floor. I will have a better understand of the different needs that our customers and staff have as well as having the skills I need in prefer to hopefully one day run a business
Yeah there are crew events that are held each quarter which allow everyone to get together and socialise outside of the working environment.
