I act as a travel advisor, day to day I will be on a desk in our office which is also a shop floor, I will answer telephone calls and sit with customers to make sales within store on holidays, travel insurance and holiday and travel extras.
I have learnt lots of customer service skills and how to become a sales and travel expert, I have also learnt lots of new IT skills. Within the store I work in, I also have days where I manage our travel money bureau, so I have learnt how to sell foreign exchange and how to buy it.
I enjoy it as I am studying for more A-levels which I love as well as still working as an actual travel advisor which is my dream job, I work as part of a team of 13 so love how sociable my job is. I also love building a type of bond with customer and being a good sales person
The store I work for have systems in place to make sure everything day to day goes as planned, such as we have a jobs rota that is to be checked everyday in the morning and every member of staff will have a different role to do everyday to ensure the store is organised correctly and managed smoothly
My manager ensures I have a study day a week to make sure my courseowrk is up to date and I am not behind aswell as making sure I am performing well with in the job to be a good employee, i recieve lots of training and support to make sure i am acheiving my absulute all,
I have recieve a zoom camera call with my trainer to talk through all my progress and to give me my next steps, aswell as this I am able to message and call her whenever i like to recieve help and get a response very quickly with answers to my questions.
The coursework I complete is related to travel and ow to become a travel advisor, this helps me learn new sales techniques and also improve my knowledge about the company and destinations which puts me in a better position to sell holidays better as I am confident in geography and also the company as a whole
we have a wellness Wednesday, during this, all our team will gather together and talk about our progress, we will also take part in some fun activities to learn more about each other, we will also discuss some important situations, such as respect for lgbtq+ etc. we will soon have some snacks together
Yes
i would recommended tui because they are a great company to buy a holiday from, our travel agents will do our best to make the perfect holiday and the best price and also offer extras to get everything sorted hassle free in one time, we will also offer the best rate on foreign exchnage to our cusotmers.
Applying to be an apprentice with tui at a young age would be the bets journey into becoming a travel agent, you will learn on the job and will be a great way to grow into a sales person and travel expert, you will also have lots of advantages to the role.
