  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is a business change apprentice which involves working in the business change team. I am responsible for the design of vidoes, emails, internal comms and animations to go out to the department. I use equipment such as powtoons, camtasia and bananatag to create innovative videos and emails. I am also part of monthly sessions within the department and run them.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I was always creative, ever since my A levels i studied art so always had an innvovative side. Working in this role has allowed me to develop my creative skills to a new level, being digitally and through videos but even through text when sending out a comms. I have also built my confidence being in this role by running sessions and putting me out of my comfort zone.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy it, i enjoy the apprenticeship side and the new skills im building. I like how flexible the apprenticeship work is, there is a lot of responsibility on me to complete the work but i always do it on time and to the best standard. I definitely think apprenticeships are the best way forward.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is really organised, it is set up really well and the apprentice advisors are always there to support me. I have regular sessions every month with my apprentice advisor in which he always asks how i am and if im understanding everything, I also have monthly meetings with my manager and a tutor to review how my progress is getting on and if there is any support i need as i reach my end point assessment.

  • I always feel supported by my apprentice group. They're all there for me and help me whenever i need it. • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that my qualification supports me when it comes to sending comms through text. The comms are really easy to send now because of the support i have been given from my training provider. It tells me how to change my wording to match certain audiences and to use certain language.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are foundation days within the business which i can get involved in and they're all different kinds of things like supporting charities, supporting local businesses and supporting the homeless. That isnt specific to my apprenticeship but its in my role and i have to do twenty fie hours a year to pass the foundation days level.
