I’m a multi crafts apprentice at sse. Day to day we learn new skills when working with overhead lines and underground cables.
With this apprenticeship you learn a lot of hands on skills, with the overhead lines you learn how to use spikes as well as the harness.
It’s a very enjoyable programme and you meet lots of new people across Scotland
The course is very well organised with training courses and college planned well in advance.
As an apprentice we receive a lot of support with periodic reviews with our managers to ensure everything is going as planned
In this apprenticeship they give us a lot of support by giving us the required time off to ensure we are able to make sure all of our college assignments are completed and in on time
Overall it helps us perform better as we are learning on the job a lot of the time as well as learning alot at training school and college as well.
There is always a end of year night out with all of the colleagues as well as yearly work days out where there is lots of activities to do
