My Role at Sage is customer facing and I am on the Loyalty team so this means I get to talk to any of sages customers who have a question around their subscription and the billing. Currently I work on webchat and can be talking to up to 3 customers at once which at times can be challenging - but it makes every day different and interesting.
Working at Sage has made me a more confident individual - which was the exact opposite of what I would describe myself as before staring. Getting to interact with people every day has built up my communication and general people skills, and surrounding myself with positive people has helped me have a more positive attitude in my day to day life
I enjoy working at sage so much because of the focus on growth and development, and it is clear that they want to support in your progressing into areas of the business you would like to go to even after your apprenticeship. There are also a range of opportunities outside of role specific tasks and I get to network with all sorts of amazing people - which I absolutely love and it redeems any issues we have with outside course providers. The actual sage employees however are 100% there to support you and try get you to where you need to be.
Due to no fault of Sage - the organisation behind our actual apprenticeship course has been near horrific with little communication from our providers to advise us on what is happening and when our next course will be. Sage do really well however at picking up the pieces and ensuring our time is not wasted and we are being proactive, EYC however have poor communication.
I receive plenty of support through Sage - they really encourage you to be the best version of yourself and will assist you in getting there. They help me both in my position and in maintaining my mental health to a point where I can thrive in said position. They also encourage any questions and are always happy to help.
The third party training providers are helpful when we get the chance to have a session with them, and the organisation stated we could reach out at any time. They are working with Sage to improve the experience we have had thus far but they provide what we request of them when we interact
The sessions give us more knowledge on the reasons why we do what we do and although it is covered within the role - the sessions are more detailed and break down business strategies and give us knowledge that can be carried beyond Sage and gives us a more general set of business knowledge
I have had many opportunities through Sage - from being at career fairs. to the charity days or creative writing exercises I have had the opportunity to be involved in. Most recently I have been invited to the LGBTQ awards in London and that is a dream come true, the company fully want to play to your interests and care about you as an individual.
Yes
I have never been a people person, but the people at Sage flipped that on its head. Everyone there is happy to help and lovely towards each other. There is a sense of community within the company and it makes work feel like less of a Job as you build relationships with the people around you, and you get to engage with global colleagues
Just be open and honest about you as a person and what makes you different to others. Sage are looking for innovative individuals who can uphold their very reasonable values, and the underlying theme is care and human interaction, so as long as you are open minded to learning and accepting - there is a high chance sage is a great place for you
