As part of my job role, our department works together to measure the profile and gap of the panels on the car. We work with tolerances and aim to meet them when something isn't met with the specification. It is also our role to come up with the solution and diagnose what is causing the parts not to fit correctly.
Yes, the combination of work and college has allowed me to develop my previous skills that I have picked up from school and previous work experience. As well as, learning new skills in engineering from college and work.
I enjoy the environment at work and college. I get along well with everyone around me and they're all very helpful. With only working one day per week, it can sometimes be difficult to be involved with some jobs and sometimes I'm left with not much to help with.
On occasion there has been a breakdown in communication but it is very clear what is expected of me and the tasks I have to complete.
My employer is very understanding and I feel very happy that I can receive help from many different people around me if I need it. I'm never worried about asking questions because I know I will get the support.
As a group we are pushed to meet our targets and we are regularly checked in with to make sure we know what we need to do and what is expected.
All of the staff at the college that work with us will take the time to stop and explain something we don't understand and are always available to help if we need.
Yes, two evenings a week we arrange a kick around that is usually six a side where everyone will chip in to hire a pitch on the astroturf for an hour.
Yes
I have had no negative experience from them and they have been very accommodating when I've come across difficult situations in and outside of work. The employees are well looked after and the job comes with a lot of benefits.
When applying for an apprenticeship, it is difficult to appear well trained when it is the companies job to educate you. I would advise anyone applying to show the interviewer how keen you are to develop your skills by asking lots of questions about the job training.
