On a casual day at work i am in the paintshop and we for our job have to perform various maintenance activities through the paintshop. The jobs we do change every day making every day different and learning different skills. I finish work at 3 and go home. Thank you
Whilst I am going to work and college i am constantly learning a lot of new skills and developing on existing skills. At work i have learnt skills like using a lathe and working with metal. I have developed on these skills at college and taken part in things like engine strip and rebuilds.
I enjoy this program both college and work. I find them both interesting and find myself constantly learning new things and having new experiences. The program is enjoyable however i do feel like the work to college ratio is too much i spend 4 of my 5 days a week in college and would like to spend a little more time in work.
At times I find the whole of the program to be well structured and organized however at times it can also be not organized. My college course and what is expected of me has been clearly explained but there has been times that things have not been organized well at all
We are well supported by our employers and always have someone that we can text or call if we are unsure on anything or need any help there will always be a manager or member from hr there to help us. Everyone is positive towards supporting us and is trying to help us do as good as we can.
When at college with our training provider we get all the needed support with our qualification and it is made clear what they need from us. Any theory work that we are stuck with we get immediate support with and everything is made clear and taught well. Practical side of college is enjoyable however the theory side can be very repetitive.
It helps reasonably well some of the parts such as the machining and welding and bench fitting as we get to learn new skills and better them and use them in work activities. Some parts that we do at work are not learnt at college but the college course is very good for the apprenticeship.
We have extra curricular activities to get involved in there is football that is organized by some of the people that work there and that is once or twice a week adn that is just a fun kick about. There is also meetings for apprentices fortnightly to give us an update on any changes.
Yes
I enjoy working at Rolls-Royce motor cars and since my apprenticeship have learnt many skills that'll be useful for life. You are treated very well as an employee and everyone is friendly and will talk to you. You gain a lot of opportunities when going through the apprenticeship and the pay is good.
Do your research whilst your applying. research the past of the company and show an interest in the company and wanting to work there. The application process is reasonably long and the interviews have a practical activity so prepare for that. You will gain many new experiences whilst working such as placements.
