  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my day to day work when my work area has full attendance as the workload is fair and the team is accepting and enjoyable to work with. work can become stressful when there are absences as I am used to cover and can't get assistance if needed. I feel as I was left on my own to do my college work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the program did not feel like it had a structure. college and work would not communicate so it would be down to apprentices to relay information between the two meaning that work would sometimes not know we were in college. it did not feel like the college work applied to our work.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • at the start of the apprentice I did not have any support from work which meant it was hard for me to keep on top of my work and I fell behind. when a new person gained control of the apprentices this support was improved and I was given time off line to catch up.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • college was good at providing support. when they discovered I was falling behind they provided me with extra sessions after work. they set me achievable targets to keep me on track and offered me one on one support. they were also able to provide me with a laptop so it was easier for me to work at home.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I do not feel like the college course relates that well to what do at work. the college work relates a lot to manufacturing a part from raw materials where as working within the factory is more assembling premade parts. a lot of the processes at college such as welding are not used within work at all.
