I am a Marketing Apprentice at Sage. On a day-to-day basis this involves working on email campaigns, planning virtual and in-person events at Sage, working on the delivery of organic social content of which all include degrees of reporting and data analysis.
I have learnt a huge variety of new skills at Sage including how to conduct a marketing campaign, organise my time, prioritise tasks, write various types of marketing emails, write organic social content, appropriately report on marketing activities as well as, how to simply conduct myself in a corporate environment.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme as I never feel as if I am not learning and developing on my marketing ability/knowledge of which was a vital factor for me when considering apprenticeship opportunities.
My programme is structured from the training provider side however, Sage themselves have found themselves being a tad unorganised in response to the overly busy time at the company that was and continues to be Sage upon my arrival. I feel that this has slightly delayed my initial development at Sage.
I receive a considerable amount of support from my employer through weekly catch-up's with my mentor and manager.
I receive constant email and face-to-face support from my training provider at any time, any day of the week. This has been especially useful as I have started working on mock reports for my assessments.
I strongly believe that my qualification has provided me with the theoretical marketing expertise to better my performance within my role at Sage and I have found that it has in fact allowed me to think in a much deeper way when it comes to marketing in general but most especially within my role.
There are a huge amount of extra-curricular activities at Sage. These activities come in the form of social events, volunteering opportunities, networking opportunities, internal events to mark company success or change. All of these activities create a real sense of family and opportunity at Sage of which is really useful as an apprentice that is new to the industry.
Yes
Because I feel as if Sage provide a variety of development opportunities in a variety of different fields. By this I mean that an apprenticeship at Sage offers you the chance to develop your personal skills, professional skills, marketing skills, social skills as well as offering you the chance to give back to your own community through the course of your apprenticeship. To add to this, Sage prioritise the curation of a warm and welcoming employee environment/network through their efforts in developing CSN's, employee networks and an overall sense of inclusivity, acceptance and equality which gives you the sense of belonging-of which is often rare at companies as big as Sage.
I would advise that you take advantage of every learning, networking and development opportunity that you get because whilst their are plenty you don't want to miss out on the chance to develop as an employee, marketer and person in ways that candidates at other companies will not get the chance to do. This development will only set you up for future success in the industry and will create an incredibly strong foundation for you at the start of your marketing career.
