I’m an apprentice in the Woodshop I’ve been going round the whole of the Woodshop during the three year apprenticeship an have been learning about each area from the start to the end of the production of the interior parts and now I’m in my final placement
Team work skills Working to deadlines Eye for detail
I enjoyed the whole bespoke workshop department where I got to work on unique designs and have my own input into a coach build design process, I’ve been able to work on my own on some ideas an projects
I think the Woodshop apprenticeship needs to work on they’re organisation of giving back feedback to apprentices and letting each area know that they will be having an apprentice in they're area as most areas had no idea when apprentices would be with them
Rolls-Royce is a good company to work for as they are happy to help you if you have a problem an will try to help sort it out
The support from the college is very good, when ever you have a question or need a bit of help they’re always happy to help or even suggest other ways of doing things, they even made time for students to come in an work on they’re projects during half term
Other then working with veneers I don’t think the college course is very relevant to the apprenticeship at all as the course is in furniture making and non of the skills we learn are used in work other then problem solving
I’ve heard that you can do golf, football, go carting and some challenges for team building I’m sure there are more
Yes
If you like working on a production line and knowing what your going to do each day I would recommend the apprenticeship, and depending on the area you get to problem solve and work on really one off cars
Make sure you do as much research into the specific apprenticeship as you can Start as young as possible
