The dY to day running of the business. Supporting the business manager in app areas of running the store such as, hiring, training, performance management, stock control, leasing with local businesses and ensuring all relevant legislation is adhered to and followed up on properly. No day is the same which is how I like it.
I have become a lot more confident in myself and my abilities within my current job role. I am more self confident as well as being more empathetic and able to listen more attentively. Overall I would say it has improved all of my managerial skills due to the training recieved.
I am currently really enjoying the programme. It gives me a much better insight into the business in which I work as well as enabling me to meet new people, invest time in myself, as well as push myself outside of my usual comfort zone. Great experience overall so far
We are told plenty of time in advance when our blocks of on campus time is going to be. There is a logical structure to all units both in the order of the units themselves as well as the order each individual unit is broken down in to. Overall happy
My employer so far has been great giving me all the off the job time I need as well as checking weekly that I am keeping up ok and that I don't need any more time in order to complete tasks. Again I am very happy with the support recieved.
Again absolutely ten out of ten. The support recieved is excellent, all of the tutors are contactable by email as needed as well as having individual skills coaches that are there whenever needed. Each of the unit leads are experts in their field and this shows with the knowledge and passion with which they teach.
Overall it has enabled me to look at the business with a different perspective. As well as focusing Inwards in order to improve personal skills that can in turn be used to benefit the business. I look at problems in a different way and self evaluate a lot more frequently.
Yes there are many extra activities that we can be involved in both on campus and more remotely. There are study skills sessions held every Thursday as well as numerous clubs to join and many many activities happening every day. The student union is very active and keeps you informed.
Yes
I would say the flexibility within my job. Absolutely fantastic pay and benefits as well as being the only job I have ever worked that promoted and recognises purely based on ability in the role alone. No qualifications, age race, colour or gender is considered only your ability in the job. Truly fantastic thing to be able to say
Be open and honest from the very start. The job is flexible and overall the store hierarchy are more than happy to help. Be yourself and enjoy the experience you will meet some great people and be offered some unbelievable opportunity's on your career journey that will help you grow as a person
