  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the program as since I have finished university and gone into McDonalds full time, I am able to continue studying and learning alongside my work. It is interesting to see different sides of leadership and different ways that I can make a difference in the workplace, and the impact that I have.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think the programme is quite well structured, I enjoy that I can pick which topic to focus on each week in whichever order I like. Each section is broken up into mini sections and can choose which section to start on to spread the work out throughout the week.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a good amount of support from my people manager at work, she would be checking up with me often to check how my work was going or if I needed help with anything, communicating with our business manager to sort out the workload and having time off the floor to complete. Very friendly and approachable, only an email away.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I received a good amount of support from my training provider(s), however had 3 different providers across my apprenticeship as the previous 2 left the training company whilst I was learning. This had a slight impact on my learning as I had to wait an extra few weeks between meetings whilst I was being changed over.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At work, we hold frequent events for people to get involved with. We hold love where you live events, a local litter pick around our local area, as well as football tournaments, crew events such as bowling or paint-balling. At work there are also opportunities to undertake extra responsibilities, such as becoming a planet champion to educate others about recycling, saving electricity etc.

  • 9a. Would you recommend McDonald's to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I think that working at McDonalds is a demanding job, but you get as much out of it as you put in, make good friendships with crew and managers and even customers. The hours are very accommodating to your life as you are able to set them yourself. Everyone is very friendly and happy to help no matter what.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
  • As long as you are friendly and prepared to work in a fast paced environment, then McDonalds is a great job. The whole application process and interview/onboarding process is very quick, when I first applied I received an interview within a week and was hired by the next. The process also involves an on job evaluation, getting to work behind the counter for 15 minutes serving customers.
