I am a signilling maintence apprentice. Everyday I go to babcock college and study. We learn a verity of new skills through our NVQs as well as some basic knowlagde we will need throughout the BTEC courses.
Yes, through the ILM especially i have developed my skills of being a team leader and even a team player.
I do enjoy the apprenticeship. There are a few areas which arn't so enjoyable however as everything in life nothing can be 100% amazing.
I feel very valued. If you have a problem or a quetion the depot managers as well as the network rail staff down at the training grounds will be glad to help you and if they cannot they will direc you to someone who can.
It is structed in a different way im use to. This course runs by completing different subjects in a very short period of time. Which is strange because normally you spend 1-2 years on a subject at college while down here its roughly 3 weeks.
The training providers provide as much support as they physically can. If you have a problem you can easily pull them aside and ask them for extra help and they are glad to assist you.
As said previously network rail value their empoyees and will go out their way to make sure they realise that.
For my current expensises the current salery meets it.
This question needs more clarification.
Yes
As said before network rail treat their employees with the up most respect. Will help develope you as an individual and unlike many companies, they are concered about your safety 24/7 while on the job.
Just be your self. Thats what all the managers really enjoy. They can easily see when your putting on a mask so just act like your self and try hard in achieveing the best grades and they will respect you for all your hard work.
