I work within a team that supports a side of the business financially, this involves : attending meetings Creating reports to then analyse with managers to help manage their costs better Creating monthly reports that get reviewed to make sure they are correct Building a wide network by involving myself with others to help problem solve.
I have learnt lots and developed many new skills when working for Siemens, some of which are : Self motivation, Independence, co operation, being on time with deadlines, planning, integrity I have not only learnt by working in a professional environment but also moving away and living away as a young person.
I enjoy my placement very much enjoying how i have a real impact to where i work, i also like how i have managed to bond with people and create long lasting relationships in which i also feel very supported by. The only part that i enjoy less would be studying after work as it can be hard to find motivation to do more studying after a long day of work.
I think that i feel confident and happy with the way the programme is structured and if i need questions i can ask them when needed and get a quick response to help put me ad ease if need be. I also feel the beginning of the programme told me what to be aware of.
I receive lots of support from my manager and am very happy with the feeling i know i can talk to them about whatever i may need to discuss. I feel free to ask questions and i also feel comfortable that they can make time for me when i may so need it.
I can receive fairly quick support from kaplan tutors when trying to get past certain questions. As this is all done online it can take time for them to get back to you therefore this can hinder studying however if you plan for this it can be solved. It also feels as if they dont like doing calls to help you as its longer to get a tutor on call. Kaplan also only helps on certain questions which seems wrong that they only help on questions and not theory also.
I feel that kaplan does help me to perform better as they have the tutor i can talk too if needed, they also have good videos and a study book that you can work through with the videos which helps to structure my studying out better so i can try to reach deadlines.
there are extra-curricular activities however i am unsure as to how used they get as i have never attended. I think that these are good activities that should be pushed more to us students as we are young and need to try and build our network so we should be pushed to do these.
Yes
I would recommend Siemens because they have such a great ability to give opportunity and responsibility especially as a young person, this has helped me grow massively. They are also a well known business that can offer so much to such a wide array of careers that its worth looking for careers to work for a great company.
The advice i would give to others applying would be to just apply and give it your all as you can gain so much experience and skills from the programme that are so valuable that other companies may not be able to offer. The process is worth growing through as that can always give you future value when applying for roles.
