My job role as a team leader is to lead the team, and ensure our shifts run as smoothly as possible. I’m there to support the team and our guests. As a team leader I make sure business and sales objectives are met.
I haven’t yet learned any new skills, however I have developed existing skills. I can now comfortably carry out business objectives with a more clear and precise attitude. Such as placing a beer order, always something I knew how to do, but now I’m more confident.
I wouldn’t say I’m particularly enjoying the programme so far. Although my trainer is an amazing support, I find the programme to be a little dull. There’s no excitement or any sense of looking forward to the next set of work.
The programme is very organised, however the structure seems a little grey. There’s no face to face meetings, no kind of hands on development so far. Although the online work is okay, I expected a more physical approach.
There’s not a massive amount of support. Although my employer is helpful when I need sessions booked out of work, during work we have no guidance on our apprenticeship. There’s no time in work to do any apprenticeship tasks.
Andrew is a great support! He really tries to make the sessions as valuable as possible. I receive great help and feedback from [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions].
So far I haven’t felt that this apprenticeship is helping me to perform better in my role, however it still is very early doors and hopefully in time I can correlate the two and create a connection to what I’m learning and what I do in work.
There are none.
Yes
Whitbread are an amazing company with great progression routes. They look after their teams and customers. I’m proud to be a part of Whitbread.
There are no tips or advice really, just be you and enjoy yourself!
