I am currently in the collections department. On a day-to-day basis i take phone calls from customers regarding them being in arrears and financial difficulty. Our aim is to help customers by setting up arrangements for them in order to clear their arrears. This is so that the customers don't get themself n any further financial difficulty.
I have learnt a lot of new skills. I had never taken phone calls before coming into collections and now i am able to take phone calls confidently. I have also learnt how to use systems that i haven't used before. I have also developed my communications skills and sending emails in the correct format.
I enjoy my programme a lot. It can be quite challenging at times which i like. I have enjoyed meeting new people and being able to earn whilst learning. I have learnt so much over the 5 departments and have really developed my skills. The revision can be hard but also enjoyable when you're gaining out of it.
I would say the programme is quite organised. I have regular meetings with my apprenticeship tutor however at the beginning it wasn't very organised. Meetings are planned which are usually 30 minutes to an hour long once a month. Assignments are handed out that have to be completed as well as revision.
I get an apprenticeship day once a week and this is where i get to revise and complete any assignments that are handed out. This is really helpful as i get the whole day t revise for exams and take in as much as can. I usually have meetings with my apprenticeship manager on this day too.
I receive support from my training provider because we have regular meetings to discss how i am doing and where i am at. We will sometimes go through multiple questions on the LIBF website before my exam which is so useful. Extra support is also available if i want it too.
The qualification motivates me to want to complete it so that i can secure a permanent job role. It is very good as it provides a lot of work and revision which relates to my job role and makes me improve. A lot of the work relates to my job rol.e.
Yes there are activities we do such as team nights out and wen it is someone's birthday we will all contribute to get them a gift.
