At the moment I am in training and I am on a specific section at the moment called fitting, on this I work on manufacturing techniques and have coursework to complete along side and also college assignments to complete.
I have developed several skills during fitting due to all the filing, drilling and machine use and other tools use during this section.
I enjoy it a lot, I find that it is one of the first jobs where time goes quickly and it feels like I am enjoying myself a lot. I am well looked after by the company.
It is very well organised, rarely anything is overlooked.
I receive an enormous amount of support, I cannot say there is anything that I can be completely stuck on during this apprenticeship. There is always someone to assist.
A lot
It helps a lot as it teaches me everything I need to know to do well in my role.
Yes, there are some charity sport events along with some NGP work which means next gen projects which anyone can get into, there are also stem ambassador groups as well.
Yes
I have already recommended it to several due to the enjoyment I get from working at BAE and it really is a company for life. I can't see myself making a career change any time soon.
Do something voluntary, Cadet groups are top end for gaining experience that's transferable to the role and Is always something good to get a good application sorted for joining BAE Systems.
