My role involves a variety of business analyst and project management tasks within the IT department to support our UK businesses. Day-to-day tasks include communication with the business, collecting and analyzing data, communicating with developers, testing and evaluating IT solutions/processes.
I have learnt a plethora of both technical/job related skills as well as interpersonal skills too. This is further supplemented by my University course.
At work, my time is extremely varied and I have regular exposure to new teams both within IT and in the UK business. I have been fortunate enough to visit some of our Logistics and Manufacturing sites too which has helped my underwstanding of the company develop further.
My time at work is structured into 3 month secondments, with regular exposure to new teams both within IT and in the UK business. Overall I think it is very well structured.
Support is always available from both my placement manager(s) and line manager as well as HR.
I am allocated 20% of my time to dedicate to University studies. Therefore every Wednesday, I spend the day attending Lectures at University, Time at work is also flexible, and if I need time to work on my studies then my manager supports this.
Overall, the course I am studying at University is relevant. However, not every topic is completely relevant to my role at work.
Due to Covid restrictions, activities at work have been affected and put on pause. However I believe there to be adequate opportunities available.
