I work in the social team and my role is based on brand reputation and social response. I engage with mentions/tags across our social channels and continue to drive positive brand engagement and reputation. I also write social copy and I am looking at ways to continue to building within my role whilst completing my apprenticeship studies.
I have developed my ability to work in a team, as well as independently. I have grown in confidence due to being trusted with my responsibilities and I have also established my people skills and pushing myself beyond my comfort zone to experience new opportunities and connect with new people.
I enjoy learning about all of the different areas of digital marketing a lot, it is a great insight into things we are exposed to day to day and seeing it from a different perspective. It also allows me yo see how and why things work the way that they do within the marketing and media world.
My programme allows me to complete my work whenever suits me best. The 1-2-1 meetings with my tutors enables me to express any concerns or questions I may have as well as gaining guidance on how to improve. My programme is very beneficial for me in my role particularly due to the flexibility of the work, allowing me to do it as and when suits me.
My employer is great with support. If I need any designated blocked-out time to complete my apprenticeship work, I know I can have it. My employer also has a great early careers team, where we know we have support an email away should we need it, and we stay connected with other apprentices through our group chats, and monthly apprenticeship calls.
My training provider are good with support, again if I have questions or queries I can email my designated tutors. They also have a contact for any safeguarding issues that I know again, is there if I need it and the check-ins that I can have with the safeguarding officer are appreciated.
I feel that my qualification allows me to gain greater insight into areas of marketing that I can apply within my role and the wider business. My apprenticeship allows me to understand how and why certain things are favoured or maybe don't work as well, and it gives me a structure to build from, applying my theory practically in my role.
My work have multiple channels on Yammer, where I can get involved with colleagues in the wider business and discuss things outside of work. We also host monthly social drinks after work in our office to build networks, and we celebrate events and occasions in the office to add a bit of fun to special times. In London, where I am based, there is countless things to do after work and places to eat for lunch, meaning that colleagues and I can have a break from work and build our personal relationships.

Sage is a great employer, especially for someone in the early stages of their career. The inclusivity here is great, and everybody is always willing to help you learn and develop. The early careers team are beyond helpful and always encourage us to get involved with activities throughout the wider business and their is always support if we need it.
Throughout the interview process and onboarding experience, just be yourself. Everybody here is human, and we want to make new joiners as comfortable as possible in what may seem like a daunting time. Don't be afraid to get things wrong. Nobody expects you to know everything straight away and it's okay to make mistakes as you learn from them. No question is a silly question, ask away and be inquisitive, it's the best way to learn.
