  • Completing work on placements in different engineering areas to meet the criteria set out by the governing body for the type of apprenticeship as well as gaining experience and skills in areas which will be very useful when you gain a role in the business.

  • Learned skills with working with pre-preg carbon fibre Developed skills in using computer software packages Developed skills in Computer Aided Design (CAD) Gained a deeper understanding of Health and Safety legislation and policies Developed knowledge in electrical and electronic principles

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the whole programme as everything that I do helps me to achieve my goal of working in an industry that I love and fulfilling a role which I enjoy.

  • The training plan is set of well in advance so you are aware of the upcoming events and steps which are crucial in allowing you to complete the programme as effectively and efficiently as possible.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive all the support that I require from my employer. If I have any problems, I know who to speak to and how I can contact them.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My placement skills coaches provide a high level of support. My college training provider provides a substantial level of support, but they could provide more support and guidance to people who do not understand the work to the same level.

  • I believe that the qualification I am working towards will be highly valuable when I am performing my role because I will apply the knowledge I have gained to fulfil my role to the best of my abilities.

  • There are countless different extra-curricular activities and events to get involved with in different areas which will appeal to a large number of people.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The knowledge and experience I have gained has been far better than any other company could provide. There are great facilities available and my fellow apprentices are amazing people to work with.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • You get from BAE Systems what you put into BAE Systems. This is relevant in every aspect of your role, and as long as you are prepared to work hard and be committed to BAE Systems, you will have an amazing and prosperous career there.
