Analysing our clients cloud environment and look for any optimisation opportunities which can help our clients save money with Cloud environments. We do this with a tool called CloudHealth. We present monthly reports to some of our bigger clients, these reports contain visibility , optimisation and governance opportunities for the client. My day to day tasks are looking out for any client queries or issues about their cloud environment in the CloudHealth tool. Also I do a lot of behind the scene work for our clients such as cleaning up their CloudHealth environment.
I have learnt a lot of new skills, one of these skills being communication skills. When I joined Softcat I didn't have much experience in talking to clients but as I have progressed in my role and since I have started talking to clients I have developed my confidence and my communicational skills. Also being part of a team helped me to develop my team work skills , I communicate with my team confidently and effectively. I have also developed and improved my management skills since I have joined my new role , this is because I am taking on more responsibilities within the team. I have also developed my customer service and problem solving skills as well , this because i am now taking on more client queries and interacting with clients frequently .
I really enjoy this programme as I have developed many skills and I have increased my knowledge in the world of FinOps (financial cloud management). Another reason why i really enjoy this programme is because, this programme gave me the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends (my team ).
In my opinion the programme is well structured , everything is planned out before time. We have structured deadlines for our apprentice work and we are able to ask our employer if we can put some time aside just to focus on the apprentice work. Also if I have any issues or queries , I have someone I can contact regarding any queries.
I receive a lot of support from my employer when it comes work and apprentice work as well. My Line manager has frequent one to ones with me. These one to ones are put in place if I have any questions or queries regarding the work I do in my role. My line manager also asks if I need any support or assistance with my apprentice work as well, they are always happy to help. My line manager also schedules some calls to go over the basics and fundamentals to what we do , these calls have really helped me develop my knowledge around the work I do .
I get a lot of support from my training provider. My training provider schedules monthly workshops for me with other apprentices. these workshops are scheduled to go over some of the work we have been doing for our monthly assignments. Also if we have any question or query regarding our assignments , my apprentice manager or coach is happy to help me.
Taking on this programme has helped me preform better in my role. the reason why I say this because , this programme has be developed many skills such as communicational skills , problem solving skills and team work skills. these skirls which I have developed through the programme have helped me better my performance in my role.,
Yes there are some extra curricular activities at my workplace. Once a quarter my department go on a team night out where we do loads of fun team building exercises and have a nice dinner. We also sometimes go to events that our partners hosts , these events are extra circular as well. we do also have many sports team within my workplace which you can sign up for.

It is a fantastic place to work , it has a great atmosphere and everybody is happy to help you especially if you are new to the company. I remember when I joined Softcat everyone was so welcoming and supportive. Also working at Softcat gives you an opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.
Don't hesitate to apply and do some research on the company when applying . Have a look at the values and the aim of the company , this will give you an idea of what it is like to be a Softcat employee.
