On a day to day basis as a account manager I look after schools who I work with through my team which is public sector. My role is to support the schools and do what Softcat are so good at and thats to add value.
I have learnt how to manage my time and make sure I am keeping up with latest market trends and developed a load of existing skills such as work closely to our partners and vendors and gaining support from where we need it.
I enjoy the programme a lot. I think its a great way of learning, bouncing off the team gaining more and more ideas throughout the work day. The balance between working and off the job training is essential and allows me to have a more balanced work life.
It is very well organised. I think the structure of the courses and the times we go away for training is very key as it allows us to be more technical and support customers when they give us the opportunity.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. From management straight through to mentoring from the firebrand team who is our training provider. I am supported all the way around through the business. Everyone is really friendly and is kind enough to support us.
Training provider does really support. Monthly reviews and catch ups are put in place to help you gain the qualification and further support can be implemented to get off the apprenticeship quicker.
I feel like the training provider helps my knowledge in products and being able to upsell products to my customers by offering a range. I perform by giving that extra value add going into the more tech savvy parts of the conversation with a customer.
In offices there are football on Mondays, vendors come into the office and love to have training sessions which is highly recommended as its beneficial and events like BETT allow us to meet customers face to face.
