On a day to day basis I deal with customers both face to face and over the phone regarding new current and past holiday bookings, currency and answer any queries in which can be regarding passports, covid, holidays etc. I am responsible for changing the window deals every morning, this needs to be done by 11am evry morning. Occasionally I open the bureau ensuring our totals are correct, balancing the till and checking for any orders.
I have gained geographical knowledge for example time zones, continents and landmarks. I have also gained knowledge on money laundering within Travel, currencies of different countries and how to sell currency safely. My ability to multi task has improved as well as my ability to market and sell a product.
I enjoy creating the excitement of a new holiday and finding the perfect holiday for customers. I enjoy my working environment, we have a family feel within the store and every one is a valued member of the team. I enjoy the job itself however the working hours and pay is it's downfall.
90% of learning is digital as someone who takes in information much better within a classroom environment I do struggle. I feel that we should have more face to face learning.
I feel as if I am valued as a regular member of the team and I have support from my team members and the apprenticeship team.
I have an apprenticeship assessor in which guides me through the entirety of my process ensuring everything is correct and helping me where and when I need it. We have calls at least once every 6 weeks I do feel as if I could use more however the assessors are always available to contact.
I gain knowledge in all areas in travel meaning I have knowledge in all sectors within the buissness i.e. geographical information, visa information, time zones, destinations etc.
There are no extra-curricular activities as far as I'm aware. They do have educational's in which you can apply for to travel free of charge to learn about the destination.
Yes
Everyone is a valued member of the team and there is a lot of ways recognition is given. If travel is something you are interested in TUI will help you gain knowledge and offer you a guaranteed full time job once you have completed your apprenticeship.
Show your personality, travel experience or industry experience isn't necessarily needed. They look for someone outgoing and confident that will speak to customers and excel in selling holidays. Ensure you do some research on the company, learn the slogans, motos etc and use them to your advantage!
