My role is focused on business reporting, specifically commercial reporting for both internal stakeholders and external indexes - on a daily, weekly and periodic basis. In addition I work closely with our IT team to create a suite of BI reports and dashboards, automating a lot of manual existing reports for the wider business.
My excel skills have improved through working with, and helping to maintain and roll more complicated spreadsheets than I was exposed to in my previous role. In addition, I am self developing my skills and knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, including DAX measures, and building reports and dashboards.
I have recently started my programme, but am enjoying it so far. The study materials I have received are really in-depth but at the same time easy to digest. The online portals for on-demand learning are accessible and so far I have found the programme to flow smoothly and in a coherent way.
It's early days, but so far so good. I found the induction session with my Talent Coach to be really informative and helpful. I have the trust and support of my line manager and company to structure my week and my time in a way that fits with the programme.
My employer provides we with the time and autonomy to structure my studies in a way that works for me. Both our HR team and my direct team and line manager have been very supportive and have really encouraged me to sign up for the programme and prioritise it as best I can.
So far I have only had one session with my training provider, but it was very informative so has set me off in the right direction. There seem to be plenty of channels, contacts and online resources should I need to contact them for support, so I feel supported even though it is early on.
It is too early for me to really notice any impact here.
Not really - we have an annual staff party (covid permitting) and an annual strategy breakfast, but nothing regular or at an individual team level.
Yes
It's a fantastic brand, with some exceptional products (and stores and restaurants), and across all areas of the business are some extremely passionate, driven and friendly people who enjoy working with each other to help keep evolving and innovating and contribute to the future sustainability and success of the business.
Visit the stores and talk to some of the staff on the shop floor to get a feel for the brand, maybe even try a taste of some of the food products. Do your research but don't focus too much on brand history and heritage, focus on the future and where we are going!
