  • Preparing and submitting planning matters on clients behalf, including through local plan promotion, planning applications and the appeal process.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to become a town planner. Although studying it at University, we do not get taught the practical side of how to do the job. Savills teaches us that. This includes negotiation, project management, writing and presentation skills.

  • I love my programme. Best choice I made.

  • Well organised, and becoming more structured now COVID is behind us.

  • I receive support in all factors of my apprenticeship, including on the job training, university assignment help and APC preparation.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Any support I want or need. They provide a day off a week to concentrate solely on my qualification.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification, although required to become RTPI chartered, is not very relevant to my role within the private planning sector.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Being located outside of London, there are limited opportunities for Savills activities, but our office holds activities which I can participate in.

  • Yes

  • Fully supportive, friendly atmosphere to work in and they provide you with the means to become an expert in your chosen area.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
  • Demonstrate confidence, knowledge of the job role and working in the private sector, why Savills is better than the rest and demonstrate your personality, not just academic qualifications.
