Assistant Manager, I help my general manager with the day to day running on the pub both in the scenes and the back scenes. Running a shift is the main help ensure we open and close the pub correctly including cash handling and that the running of the day goes smoothly. Also ensuring staff are happy and that rotas are completed and needs are met.
Since becoming an assistant manager I have learnt how to be more compassionate and more understanding to group and individual needs. I know how to read situations better and know what attitude to have to each one. I've learnt the differnce in a team player and a manager and not just allowed the control to go to my head.
I enjoy my programme as it is allowing me to learn new skills and new thought processes I wouldn't have necessarily known before and can put It into practise with other management team at the same time. It allows me to understand the team more and help them to better themselves whilst bettering myself.
I do enjoy the structure of the programme. Everything is well explained and my tutor is open with communication and varies different types of visits to ensure I am on track with what I need to be, she is also only a text or email away if I am struggling and need further help. Also the group events are all planned out at the start of the course so you know the dates amd times so can plan ahead of time.
It was in fact my employer who encouraged me to go to for the course after I had completed my previous level 2 course. They allow me the time of I need in order to complete my visits and my courses and factor this into.my contracted hours to make this fair for me.
My training provider lifetime have been very supportive. They have multiple platforms to allow you to see where you st and where you need to be amd also lots of information to help with work that is set to ne via my trainer. I also can message my tutor anytime for help and guidance and she always gets back to me.
The qualification I'm working towards is helping me as I'm learning techniques and strategies to help my leadership role thay I may have never known about if I havnt have been a learner. Its allowed me to build better realstionships with team members and building good manager employees relationships.
I am currently the energy champion for work and help the macmiallan champion which allows us to speak to the same nominated people in the area to shared and build each others ideas up. We all have end goals in pub but having these little social teams in place allow us to get to these quicker.
Yes
