As a retail apprentice at TUI involves giving 5* service to all customers that walk into our superstore. Our customers come in for a range of reasons from booking their dream holiday to asking questions about covid 19 entry requirements. For every customer we give the same service! We make every customer feel special!
I have learnt many new skills while working at tui, this includes customer service skills, new IT skills. Other skills including team building skills have also came in handy as in our store work as a team and it helps everyone meet their targets. I have also gained a lot more destination information which I have definitively improved on.
I love working for TUI uk, the programme is really good and well thought out. The programme allows me to work my dream job and also get a qualification along the way which is an added bonus! I will be able to use this qualification in the future if I did want to go onto other jobs in the same sector!
The program is very well organised / structured. It runs very smoothly and there is always someone that can help. There are also many other apprentices which we can talk to through teams so if we are ever stuck with work we can talk to other peers which I find very helpful!
In my store I am one of three apprentices, so if me and my peers struggle with something we always have support. This can wither be from mangers, peers or my apprenticeship mentor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions]. We have reviews every couple of weeks to see where we are improving and if we need to improve on something [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] gives us a helping hand!
We gain a lot of support from everyone as everyone around us wants us to succeed! I gain support from my colleagues, managers, apprenticeship mentor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] and other peers going through the same stages as me- we get in contact through teams or through video calls. It is nice to have other peers in the same situation.
I believe my qualification helps me perform better in my role as I gain knowledge I need to do better at my job. this includes destination knowledge, It also gives more of an over view on service we should be offering to our customers. It also ensures we do our job to the best of our ability as our assignments need to be detailed.
I have been to recent training days in another store where I was able to meet other new starters and see how we all are different and how we all help the business.. It was nice to see that we are all unique and we all have different ways of selling and different approaches.
Yes
Tui is a trusted business and we get support from everyone possible. we also have endless opportunities within the job. We get rewarded for things that we do well as a shop which is nice as we are appreciated. I am thankful that I was able to get an apprenticeship and get a qualification long side working.
I would say to be confident and to be yourself as we are all different but that is what makes us unique. Everyone has a different way of selling but different ways work for different people. Building a good rapport with customers is also very important as it allows customers to come back time and time again.
