  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role involves working with different team to get an understanding of the overall sales process. I work within Sales order management to place order and help to solve customer queries. I also work within purchase order management where I place PO's and work with suppliers to resolve any queries they have with pricing or deliveries. I run reports to track order and update our system on SAP.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my skills in teamwork time management and confidence through new learning and working with many different teams. This helped me to get a better understanding of the business in order for me work with different teams better and improve my knowledge and confidence in what I was doing. I also learnt new skills of presentation skills and networking, which will help me to progress within the business.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the team I am in and enjoy working with other teams and learning about what they do. I also enjoy the work that I do and feel lie I have done a variety of work since joining, which makes it more enjoyable as I'm doing different things regularly. I also find the assignments I do are a variety so I am constantly learning new things.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is structured well as I have one day each week to focus on and complete any assignments and prepare for my EPA. It allows me to focus on completing my assignments to a high standard and in good time in order to make sure I am hitting my target dates. It allows me to focus on completing my assignments

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive plenty of support from my employer as I get any help I need in order to complete my assignments and do my day to day role. Whenever I voice any concerns I feel like they're listened to and actions are taken by myself and my managers to help this. I also have regular 121s where I can discuss how it is going and some action plans are put in place to help me improve further.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive enough support from the provider as each session we went through criteria to hit for the next task I would be moving on to. This helped me to have a better understanding of the task and complete it to a higher standard. However, I do feel as though having more meetings with my tutor in the first half of the apprenticeship would have been useful for completing earlier tasks allowing me to complete my project and case for change sooner.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification helps me to understand business terminology better therefore helping to to understanding things within my business more. It has also allowed me research different areas and teams within my company though speaking to other senior management getting their thoughts and opinions on how things are going within the business, such as looking after the environment, finance and personal developments.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are lots of events outside of work to get involved in with lots of different teams, such as freshminds (a social group for young people) and a yearly conference to network with other teams and build better relationships. This all helps to get a better understanding of the business and get to know other areas.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Computacenter to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • They provide a lot of support and genuinely want apprentices to achieve good results and progress. There is a great culture of people, the pay rate compared to other places is good, there are lots of areas of development. The apprenticeship programme also involves lots of networking throughout the business, which in turn helps to provide better communication and relationships.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Computacenter?
  • Don't be afraid to learn new things and meet new people and don't be afraid to make a mistake. Network as much as possible because people come in handy if you need help. Research the company before hand to make sure you are aware of what the company does. and what they want to achieve. Make yourself aware of company values to make sure you are working in line with the company.
