  • My job role can be very reactive at times, meaning team priorities have to be quickly updated to ensure we are delivering safe, effective customer service.

  • The programme taught me essential management techniques and how to build trust with my colleagues

  • Being on the programme was a great way to develop myself, to ensure that i could be as effective as possible in my job role.

  • The programme was very organised, and was quickly adapted to ensure that the program could continue throughout the pandemic

  • My store manager didnt approach me to discuss the programme, the progress i was making or check to see if i needed any support

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My mentors & facilitators made it very clear from day 1 of the programme that if we need support then reach out by phone and email. When support was requested they were always very understanding and empathetic and conducted regular check-ins on my wellbeing.

  • Whenever i am unsure on a particular area, i always review my learning diary to locate my learning resources to make sure im taking the best approach to deal with the circumstances

  • Yes

  • Wickes allows anyone who joins to company to upskill their employable skills such as communication, independence, team working etc.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Wickes?
  • Review the development opportunities that wickes provide via the apprenticeship scheme, as i feel that this development area isnt talked about enough
