No prior experience of accounting before starting this role. Huge number of new skills learnt as well as skills developed further. Analytical skills, communication skills, project management, team management, critical thinking, excel skills
Program was enjoyable. Made friends for life with whole cohort going through the same experience. Work can be challenging with significant time pressure and workload. Can also be stressful to manage both work and studies. But overall an enjoyable experience
Reasonably well organised. Hundreds of trainees onboarded every year with clear program structure. However communication can be lacking at times
Good level of support received. Sufficient study leave time given. Not all exams are college taught though and I would have prefer to spend more time at college
BPP are average. Often struggle to mark papers in time. Big quality differences between teachers on programs
Qualification is essential to an accounting role. Elements directly relate to day to day job with parts of job only being understood once sat in exams
There are these options for those that wish. Good friends made with those who you go through qualification with
Yes
Overall positive experience. Work life balance is an issue industry wide, but overall BDO have been supportive throughout the qualification
