i have to do practicel work in a factory which concists of building up diffect models to different engines that are made. i also have to do written work to show my understanding of how things are done. this can be challenging as there are so many different jobs and activities to learn.
yes, i have. i have managed to develope many skills which are not just limited to the pratical side of the apprentiship. i have managed to become more confident in myself when working in groups and teams. i have also managed to learn alot more about engineering and how important it is as a whole.
I enjoy my program very much. it is very good as it has helped me in many ways become a better person. it has also helped me learn more about a subject i was already intrested in. without this program i would of had to go to college and then do my A-levels. however with the program i am able to leanr, get experience and also get paid.
in all honesty. the program is not the greatest organised. it does lack in some areas. for example i have finished a placement in the business and the next week had no where to go. the placmeent plan is normally released a month before your current placment finishes. so this was a problem. i have also had 5+ managers which has made the program a bit more unorganised and therfore more difficult
as somone with dylexia i have struggled a little bit more than the average apprentice. howevre there has been support put into place. for example i have a lifescribe pen and if/when i need help i can just ask for it. the only issue i have had with my support is that i have had to be retested 3 times due to my file being misplaced and therefore they needed to retest me to see what type of support i needed.
as mentioned before, i do recieve some types of support when working. i can ask for assistance if and when i need it however i do tent to stay away from extra help. i have recieved a live scribe pen whihc does help with some of my written work. in college i also got given extra time to allow for me to have longer to process and word out my assignments.
some of my training has helped lots towards my job role and some of the training has not. for example in college i had to learn about theory of flight. however i will never actually need to use it whilst building the aircraft engines. it would only be neccerssary if i had to start designing the blades and parts for the engines. on another note, most of my training has helped, especially the practical side.
at work i am aware of many different "clubs" that you can join and be apart of. i havent joined any as i would rather not however i do know people who have joined. for example there is a running club. there are also mental health groups to ensure everyone is okay.
Yes
because it is a great palce to work and everyone is very nice. the people make the job fun and enjoyable whilst still making it an efficent workplace. the pay is also very good. i would hinestly say that the only downside to the company is the lack of organisation that can be found in some areas. however it isnt bad enough for me to not recommend it.
when going to the interview be yourself and show your intrest in the apprenticeship. this is important as your interests and hobbies will be what they look for most. another thing to do before the interview is to learn about the company and what they actiually do. this shows that you are willing to go the extra mile and hsow how intreseted in the company you really are.
