  • I am Head of Skills responsible for an Apprentice Programme with 225 apprentices from 45 companies, a National Training Centre network and an online training platform.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes. The course has been key to me building new skills in leadership including financial planning and marketing.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The opportunity to learn and be supported by a fantastic provider has helped me develop. The chance to learn from industry experts and build a network amongst my peer group in other sectors has been an excellent opportunity.

  • The programme is very well structured with lots of support available from tutors, coaches and others. The Uni is always prepared to listen and act on feedback

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is supportive however it is always a challenge to balance study, work and personal life.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider has been excellent throughout the programme. I have had to defer a module due to a bereavement and the support provided was fantastic and very welcome.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have secured a new role mid way though my apprenticeship, changing employer. The apprenticeship has allowed me to demonstrate new skills and capabilities.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes. Social events, challenges and lots of networking events. My team also provide additional activities for apprentices which help with the technical aspects of their course such as key speakers and also support around subjects such as impact in the role, resilience and wellbeing.
