1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Director of Analytical Sciences. Lead a team to characterise protein drugs, develop methods to measure important properties and support the development of processes to enable drug substances to be manufactured and used in clinical trials

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've been participating in an eMBA apprenticeship which has allowed me to take a deep dive into strategy, business planning, sustainability, effective leadership, and the future of work. The skills and knowledge learnt are brought back and utilised in my role

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

This has been a great development opportunity. Accommodating it in a busy work and life is challenging.

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

Apprentices in AstraZeneca have formed a group to help navigate the course. Course administration on the providers part has improved since the course started

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

AstraZeneca has been very supportive throughout and people have been generous with their time to facilitate my learning

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Support from the provider is at a basic level. It's very much a self-serve course; check-in's feel some what of a box-tick

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Undoubtedly I am much better qualified to be a leader in my organisation having been on this course. I am much more familiar with the big issues in business and have developed competencies and understanding that allow me to have a bigger impact on the organisation

Not really. We have a teams chat.
