My day to day role consist of many things such as completing work papers to complete audits as well as helping to run samples. Working closely with the KPMG team and clients to work effectively. I sometimes travel to client sites to work collaboratively and perform audit tasks at client sites.
I have learnt many skills such as becoming more IT competent as well as developing my professional career. As well as this Doing my AAT I have developed my accounting knowledge as well as already obtaining my level 3 AAT qualification in only 6 months which has been a good experience.
I enjoy my program as I believe it is a better route to university as I get my professional fees covered by KPMG and gain qualifications whilst on the job. As well as that the social elements is enjoyable at KPMG as many work socials are available to attend as well as being able to meet new people.
It is well organised as we are made aware of all exam dates and exams off the professional qualifications departments as soon as we start however the resourcing department aren't fully aware so you have to make them aware of this. Other than this KPMG and BPP work together to ensure a smooth programme.
I receive plenty of support as I work hard towards my qualifications as my managers are aware of any exams or learnings I have upcoming so they ensure I feel confident with these exams as well as this they allow a study day for exams so I can prepare myself.
BPP provide plenty of support as they provide any necessary work as well as books of practice questions they also provide contact to tutors the day before the exam even out of hours as well as online systems which will give you practice scenarios to practice exam questions and exam technique.
It will eventually allow me to qualify as a chartered accountant which will allow me to work up the promotion ladder at KPMG and become successful in my roles. the audit terminology you learn with provider is useful also as it helps with work conversations with colleagues as well as clients
There are lots of different committees such as Muslim and social committees within departments. These are nice to join if you want to get involved with others even further and help you be aware of your work environment. Sometimes people organise outer activities such as walks and other exercise activities.
Yes
I like my role and believe they support me the thing I do like is that i get a good wage and I am able to also earn qualifications at the same time which puts me at an advantage to some of my peers as when studying at university you need a job alongisde this whereas i do both
I would be yourself and really show your personality as well as any experience or professional skills as it is important you work well collaboratively and lots of times an employer will take the way someone presents themselves and who they are into consideration as well as suitability for the role
