Checking that the financial statements of clients are a true and fair representation. It involves reconciling provided documents to independently pulled documents, reviewing their accounts for unusual transactions, identifying risks. Working as part of a team is vital as audits are performed mostly in teams. The team checks up on me and then gives me the work that I should be performing. Therefore, working independently is also a huge part of working in audit.
I have definitely learnt the skill of working more in excel and using different software that helps with the audit. For example, I have gained knowledge of formulas and functions of excel that I never knew about. I have further developed my team-working and organisational skills as those are essential when working in audit to get the work done in an efficient manner.
I believe that the work, study balance is fair and that I receive the required support for my studies as well as my work. KPMG ensures that I receive the best education possible and that I have enough time allocated to learn and to develop myself through training and work.
I believe that it is very well organised, with days fully dedicated for courses, learning and for exams, KPMG ensures that I get time for study so that I can pass the exams. The course is structured well as it starts off at level 3, giving us a good foundation in the world of accounting and then progresses on to a level 7.
My employer ensures that I receive the appropriate level of education by enrolling me to a brilliant education provider who also supports me in my learning in numerous ways. Furthermore, my employer makes sure that I have certain days allocated to study to ensure that I have time learn and to do my coursework.
Support from my training provider includes course materials, supportive and knowledgeable teachers who are always happy to help and pick up questions as well as platforms where I can test my learning, do practice assessments, as well as ask teachers if something is unclear via a dedicated platform or via their email address.
I feel that my qualification will give me the knowledge to be able to perform and clearly understand my day to day job. This is because things can get confusing at times without having the required knowledge and I feel like having that knowledge will really help me have the confidence and the required understanding to be able to handle tasks more efficiently and more independently.
I personally don't get involved in any as I live quite a distance from the office or where those events occur. I also like to spend my time doing different activities that are closer to home when it comes to activities such as exercising. Extra-curricular activities are organised by my employer and many people do attend these.

Depending on the people you work with, they tend to be quite supportive and help you with developing your skills. Most are eager to help when you require and are great from a social perspective. Furthermore, the benefits you get, such as the experience and the degree are very advantageous for your career. KPMG is also big on their CSR, so they allow you time for volunteering into causes that you care most about.
To be relaxed, have a positive attitude, try to improve your communication skills in order to speak in a calmly manner during the interview. Also, improving on your excel skills is something that I would recommend as during your daily job you will find yourself using it a lot and having some knowledge in using excel can help a lot. Furthermore, try improve your analytical skill and your eye for details.
