Moving around different placements within the business, looking at what different departments do and learning new skills to help them with their day to day job. Some of the departments i have been to are Finance, Project Managment and planning, HR and Import/Export clearence. These have been great so far.
I have learnt how to use new pieces of software such as Foxit phantom for combining PDF's. I have also used Microsft projects for the first time to make project timelines for different time scales. I have continued to improve my Excel skills to be able to do more with the tools such as pivot tables and more.
I really enjoy the programme, I have learnt so much so far and I know I will continue to do so. I have met lots of new people who have helped me massively as well as new friends on the same apprenticeship as me. I know there is more to learn and I cant wait to see what is next.
It is well organised and the structure of where I will be going next in my Apprenticeship is planned out already. I have had an issue wit one placment getting confused but that was sorted very quickly by my Apprentice Manager. I spend around 3 months in each placment before moving onto the next one.
I receive alot of support from the employer for the work I do, where to improve and what I am doing well. I have reviews with the company every 6 weeks to check progress and to make sure I am on track. I also have reviews with college every 6 weeks to make sure my work there is being submitted on time.
I recieve enough support from my training providor with frequent calls every 6 weeks or so to make sure I am submitting my work and it is meeting the criteria needed by me. Also, if needed I can email them anytime to go through any questions I have and they are always quick to answer.
I think that with my training providor, they help me perform better in my role by giving me the support I need with the work that needs to be submitted as well as any general questions I may need answered if I dont feel comfortable going to the other party, they are always there for support.
There are so extra activities to get involved with that include people from outside the business as well such as doing days at schools or presntations about the job roles Leonardo has. It is always offered to all apprentices even though you don't need to do all of them, you get the choice to.
Yes
Leonardo is a great company to work for with great company ethics, a nice building to work in and more. I haven't met anyone who isn't happy to help me with any questions I have and all of my placments have had great teams and managers to work with.
The application process is hard so try your best and give it your all. Try and do some research on the company beforehand and look at what products we get involved with and what you think you can bring to the company. Don't be scared of the interviews as the people are always really friendly and understanding and make sure to give every step your all!
