I am currently a junior project manager and am gaining the experience to further my career in project management. I have lead services in bettering their security and continue to take on more services to implementation, and shadow my senior PM on a daily basis.
My professional skills have developed a lot since starting, and I continue to pick up new skills as I progress in my role. These include, communication, IT, project management, team working, finances, and business environments.
I love the programme I am on, I am always being offered new experiences and courses to develop my skills and build my portfolio for the end of my apprenticeship.
It is very well structured, I have a set learning plan that I have to complete before the end of my apprenticeship which I can track, as well as monthly meetings with my career coach who will also track my development, and new courses to do are always being offered.
I receive support from my career coach, my mentor, and my account manager so there is always someone to go to.
I receive support from my career coach and can always book a call in with them if I am struggling or feeling stressed, so I always feel like there is someone to talk to.
I am able to do courses that support my role, for example there are multiple project management courses I am able to do, but I can also do courses in areas I feel like I am lacking so that I can build on my knowledge and skills.
Yes I am part of our pastoral care communication team which is offered to other early professionals, as well as taking part in other volunteer programmes.
Yes
Because I always feel supported and like I can continue to build my career within IBM, there is always room to grow and do something different.
I would definitely say take a look at the different pathways you can take and which you would find suits you best, and reach out to someone within IBM maybe through LinkedIn - there is always someone in IBM that is willing to help.
