I serve people food and drink. I help younger colleagues understand their roles and guide them to deliver great customer service. Making pudding when they are ordered. Close the restaurant at the end of service. Close down the bar and lock the doors when every one has left the pub.
I have learnt how to cash up the tills, how to excel customers expectations. How to deal with a customer complaint in house. I am always looking for new opportunities and am willing to learn and try new things to develope my skills and knowledge throughout the industry of hospitality.
My tutor is great. Always there to answer my questions or queries I may have about my work. Always giving me advice on where I can develop my skills and knowledge. The tools and online learning is great and easy to understand. Great that I can do it at my own pase and time.
They are very organised, and easy to get hold of when needed. Everything is always up to date and well in formative. The online learning is split in to sections so that you can keep on top of where you are at with all your learning and how much you have done.
I don't really get that much support. I ask for help with my learning and I sometimes get I don't know or I get half heart I'm interested answers. On the other hand I do have a very supportive area manager who is always asking if I need help or guidance.
I get alot of support from my training provider. Mt tutor always answers my questions when ever I ask them. He is always there when I need help and guidance. If I haven't managed to do something or answer a question he always help and guides me in the right direction at our meetings.
I always try and put what I have learnt to practice, whether it is through guiding other or whether it's through things I have learnt about myself and how I can lead my team. So things may not work for me and my team but you don't know if you don't try them.
Not that I am aware of. The only thing we have is a team page on Facebook. I don't think any of us have the time or energy to get involved in sports and extra activities at work. Everyone is always at work if there not at work it's there day off.
No
I don't mind working where I work at a single pub, but as a huge company the encouragement or rewards to hitting targets or goals aren't as rewarding or aren't exciting enough for teams to try and get them. I always try and work really hard but don't feel I get much recognition.
Always be on top of your elearning so that you don't have to be nagged at all the time. Always try your best and push yourself to excel and be recognised in what you do for the good and not the bad. I wish that my place of work gave reward to people that put their all in and not people just because they haven't had it.
