I am a purification process development scientist in the R&D supporting drug portfolio and pipeline. My role ensures that the processes I develop can meet product quality requirement set by the regulatory body and can be successfully transferred into clinical production providing sufficient medicine for clinical trials.
I have learnt how to design experiments and gain presentation skills. I am also doing the data analysis apprenticeship to update my skillsets.
I am enjoying learning new things and adding new skills to my tool box. I have been working for 7 years after graduation and learning from scratch takes more energy than I thought but I am adapting.
It is very well organised and structured. We constantly get emails from the organiser as reminders and the online tutorials are very interactive. But I would say the hours required to complete the assignment it's longer than what it stated to be, at least for myself.
Support are accessible with clear guidance. However, sometimes workload is high and it's difficult to balance the time to do my own study.
We have monthly meeting with mentor and he is very approachable. He is polite and good at what he does.
I am at the very beginning of the apprenticeship but I can tell that the coding I am learning can be applied in my role and help streamline a lot of mundane data analysis work.
Yes there are a lot of team gathering and yesterday I attended the Science Symposium and presented my poster.
