I am a commercial executive in the Morrisons team at Unilever. I work with Customer Account Managers to plan, track and finalise promotions on our products within Morrisons stores as well as making sure pricing is aligned between us and the customer and dealing with any misalignments. I am also responsible for formatting and sharing sales and stock holding data to my team on a weekly basis.
I have learnt many new skills such as how to use excel efficiently in my role and how to use power BI for data visualisations. I have learnt so much about data such as where to source it, how to clean it and visualise it and how to present it which has developed my ability to present to large audiences.
I enjoy my programme as I have learnt so much about working in a large business and I feel I have developed both professionally and personally. It has been a great experience so far and it has challenged me in many ways to do things I would normally shy away from but it has built my confidence massively.
My programme is well organised. We have many contacts that we can reach out to if we ever need help and they are very responsive. We have multiple coaching sessions both one on one and in a group which is great for development. Overall I feel very supported in my apprenticeship.
I receive support from the people within my organisation such as my line manager and also my team. I have regular weekly catch-up with my line manager where we discuss how I am feeling at the time and workload vs apprenticeship work and if there is any extra support I need.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider as we have monthly catch-up to discuss my progress and set any extra objectives for me to develop areas where I think need improvement. We have monthly group coaching sessions where all the information is delivered which is then followed by an assignment with a deadline.
I have learnt so many new data- related skills from my training provider. As my role is heavily data based, this helps me to be more time efficient in my role and more successful at completing certain tasks. It has also improved my confidence when taking on new challenges as I know I can do it.
There is plenty to get involved with. In my team I am part of the 'social team' so it is my responsibility to plan and organise away days or social events which is good fun. I am also part of a team called 'outreach'. We go into schools and host innovator games and career fairs.

At Unilever you are amongst a community of people that have purpose and will help you find your purpose. There is so much room for development and you are provided with tons of resources to help you do so. There are many benefits of working for Unilever and it is overall a great experience.
Going into a global company can be scary for many as there is so much to learn but you need to take each day as it comes and always be proactive to learn as much as you can. Ask as many questions as you need to and network as much as you can.
