My role is in advising clients on planning applications, and preparing/submitting applications, as well as taking them through the application process. This primarily involves writing planning statements, liaising with clients, architects and other professionals, meeting with the Council and reviewing Local Plans.
Yes, I have developed my writing and research skills throughout this role.
I enjoy my programme as I am involved in a number of projects and take an active role in each. The university work supplements my planning knowledge to assist in my daily role.
Given it is a new programme I do not think the structure was clear at the beginning and it did not feel well organised. However now I am in my second year I understand the structure better. It would be helpful if this had been clearly explained at the beginning.
I receive good support from my employer, which has increased across the two years. I feel there was limited support at the beginning of my course.
I receive limited support from LSBU, though do have check ins every 6 months which are helpful.
My qualification has given me useful background knowledge to support me in my role.
Yes there are some extra curricular activities, however these are not always well advertised.
