It is a wonderful opportunity to be trusted to represent such an infamous company, you are in a wonderful support network learning to enjoy life, you have ample time to focus on your degree and the work you do on the job means something.
Yes, the training providers are excellent, Warwick University puts on a well structured hybrid degree course and JLR themselves have a range of inhouse and on the job training which enables you to build a toolbox to reach into when needed.
It is hard work, don't get me wrong it is rewarding but the learning curve is difficult to start with and can be overwhelming but there is support, that is the key bit, it is a high stress high reward role.
The Jaguar Land Rover side of things is perfect, well structured and allows you to integrate yourself into whatever team you with to go into - the Warwick University side of things lacks a little bit but that is the nature of a degree nowadays.
Excellent support from Jaguar Land Rover - JLR has an amazing therapy group which is confidential and the manager that you have for the duration of the apprenticeship is great! You get paired with another older student to answer your questions and provide you direct support too!
Warwick University is willing to listen too but is shackled by the degree apprenticeship standards - the concept of a degree does not fit well around the confinements of working a full time job and they need to realise this, other then that its good.
The degree feels like a piece of paper at the end of the day but that is the same for any degree, the lack of debt is good - but the real gold are the skills and network you build in work, the confidence you gain along the way!
There are social teams which put on events and the income is just enough to go to the odd event, I would recommend being in the Leamington Spa area if you do start in JLR, your placements are good for networking too!
Yes
It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be trusted in a professional environment, articulate your own learning and development from infinite experiences, an innovative course which sets the standard for engineering at a higher level - university cannot compete, you get your life made here.
Learn to manage your time, it is stressful, don't be put off by that but be wary, do NOT think you can just get by doing the bare minimum because that won't work, its a job and with a job comes a lot of responsibilities.
