Assisting the relationship manager with the daily runnings of the portfolio. This includes, booking in customer meetings. Holding Fraud and Security reviews. Helping and assisting customers with completing their customer due diligence. I also help customers with day to day queries and refer them to the appropriate teams, may this be the services team or fraud team.
I have managed to develop my communication skills dramatically. I already come from a background of customer service, however, I have had to come to terms with banking language and adapted to speaking with important customers. I have developed my resilience within this job as some tasks can be testing and require a lot of resilience.
I thoroughly enjoy the programme, I have always loved learning new skills and new subjects. Therefore, this opportunity to learn a new course and get a start within the bank has been amazing. I am currently revising for my first exam, which is very heavy on content, however I am enjoying the learning experience.
The programme is very organised, before each webinar a reminder is sent the day before to confirm the time and date of the webinar. The way the webinars work suits my style of learning through the use of questions and slideshow presentations. My tutor is also very proactive and have already been on two meetings already.
I receive endless amounts of support from my employer. I am able to take my study time when it best suits me and just advise my line manager when I will be away from my desk revising. We have a collaborative approach and my line manager does anything he can to support my learning needs.
So far I have received a lot of support. We have fortnightly webinars whereby we have a 3 hour session going through an exam topic. Once we have been provided with the information, I will then take this away and condense the information into my own revision resources. My tutor is also always on hand with regular updates.
The training provided is benefitting my role as I am able to apply the content I am being taught into my work. For example, the topic on risk was very beneficial as this is a key subject within our department. Therefore, understanding risk on a more advance level know means I am able to apply this knowledge when dealing with risk adverse situations.
There are always multiple events running which I am able to attend. I have been on a womens empowerment day already which was held in London. I join regular webinars which provide training opportunities. Also will be taking part in a charity day, where myself and our team will be visiting a company to assist with gardening.

Natwest provides so many opportunities. Before starting in the bank, I never fully understood how many job opportunities there where. Therefore, just getting your foot in the door opens up a world of different jobs. The bank are also very supportive of personal development and allow people the chance to grow their skills through multiple training courses and degrees.
I would always advise to be your authentic self. Do not try to be anyone else just to impress, the bank are very accepting of all types of personalities, therefore let yours shine through. Would also advise it can be overwhelming when looking at the job adverts, however everyone within the bank is so encouraging, that when you begin the job you are provided with so much training it definitely becomes less daunting.
