My role: I assist the project controls team in upcoming projects, where i get involved in meetings with internal and external stakeholders. I conduct a lot of work on excel but i have been trained in it by the organisation to be proficient in it. I work on various projects, which will include elements of creating a project management plan, schedule, look at risks and sometimes travel to different parts of the country to meet contractors. Day to day: I start with a morning meeting with my team, then i work on the tasks that i need to do for the day, talk to my collegues and have meetings throughout the day, then i will work on my apprenticehship work if i have completed all my tasks for the day.
Excel skills have developed the most, soft skills have dramatically increased, stakeholder engagement, communication, confidence, knowledge of the company and other areas of the industry.
i thoroughly enjoy the programme, they treat you fairly and include me as much as possible in the work, i get treated with the up most respect, i enjoy who i work with and every day is different.
I know when i need to attend apprenticeship meetings and they keep me motivated with regular reviews of how i am doing to make sure i am on track. They set out a chart of when we will do networking events so i am aware of when the next one approaches.
Plenty of support i can come to them for anything
Plenty of support i can come to them for anything. They always have time to mark my work and give me feedback.
It gives me knowledge in certain areas that the job uses, so i can combine the knowledge with experience and implement my own creative ideas alongside that to impact the projects we work on.
Yes but i have not been involved in them myself but when the next opportunity arises i will get involved. Plenty of extra events to attend.
Yes
Friendly environment, great people, work is excellent, plenty of skills and knowledge they provide and they are always giving you opportunities to develop yourself further with their resources.
Take every opportunity they provide
