My role is managing accounts that trade with Softcat. On a daily basis, I communicate with customers to provide IT solutions for their businesses.
I've learnt communicative skills, skills within sales and how to work as a team.
It can seem overwhelming at times to perform as an account manager whilst also juggling apprenticeship work but, it is doable and is creating a path for future opportunities.
I believe our programme is structured well to align with priorities at Softcat, but it could've been easier to break down projects/ tasks later in advance without it seeming as if it's being brought to us all at once.
Softcat provide great support whether that's in a team or individually. There is such a wide variety of resource and people with great experience and advice.
We only receive support from one individual at Firebrand. He is super supportive and really wants us to do well.
I believe it helps in the sense that we carry out tasks and e-learning associated with IT sales and basic worklife skills.
There are various professional networking events announced and carried out within Softcat for people of all departments to take place in.
Yes
Because it is a great company to work for and provides immense support and opportunities in the working world. Everyone there is really friendly and the culture really brings everyone together.
I would say to give it your best shot and even if applying for a specific something you didn't think you wanted, that's okay as you can change departments and gain experience in all sectors.
