My role involves undertaking surveys of commercial properties such as Shops, Offices, Warehouses etc. and producing various reports on that property.
Yes, I have developed many skills within the workplace. These range from corporate cultural, skills, to general life and confidence skills, as well as, the specific knowledge, and skills taught and required for a building surveyor through on the job experience and the degree.
I really enjoy the programme. Although, it can prove challenging, in various ways these challenges keep life interesting and push you to improve in all sorts of ways as you progress through your career.
The programme is well organised, and there is regular communication between the various parties responsible for each apprentice, to ensure it stays this way.
I receive a lot of support from my employer and have various resources and people to go to should I need help with work related or personal issues.
My training provider provides many opportunities for support, for the students. There are all sorts of programmes in place to effectively teach the content of the degree and to assist those who are struggling.
My qualification directly relates to my role and as time passes I find more and more ways the degree and content has supported my job role.
There are plenty of extra-curricular activities to get involved in within Savills. Savills is a very exciting company to work for, and provide many different activities and initiatives to get involved in.
Yes
The apprenticeship has done nothing but benefitted me in so many ways since I have arrived. With more than enough support, a good salary, and opportunities throughout the company, there is little to nothing complain about.
Research the company. Understand the role you are going for, and the day to life of someone within this role. Try to utilise every opportunity available to secure a place at Savills. Work experiences / placement years. Be ready to demonstrate how much you want the apprenticeship, and this role.
