On a day-to-day basis, I work on delivering email campaigns for the loyalty program and planning for future campaigns throughout the year. I also work alongside my manager on a hospitality social movement and aim to better the industry for all those involved. I also write and post social selling content for our sales team.
I have developed my presenting and public speaking skills by working with my line manager to create PowerPoint presentations to present to the wider team digitally and face to face. I have also worked on developing my data analytical skills by doing an excel workshop and putting what I've learnt into practice in a recent data collection project.
I have really enjoyed my journey so far with Unilever. From the onboarding process, they made sure the cohort was super engaged with and we were given buddies for us to ask any questions we may have. Then, since officially starting in October, I have had a really pleasant experience.
The onboarding process was very detailed and fun. Before I started I met my line manager and got to know my team, my role within in my team and some of the projects I'll be getting stuck into when I start. I regularly have catch-ups with my manager where tasks are delegated, any concerns I have are met and there'sa focus on my development.
Unilever truly values wellbeing with regular opportunities for wellbeing meetings that focuses on physical fitness, such as a running club, and mental wellbeing, such as yoga and open conversations with line manager. Line managers are also the first line of contact for any concern or situation - they are very supportive.
My training provider always has an open line of communication where I can ask any questions, raise any concerns and be supported throughout my academic career. They also provide progress review check-ins in which they ask about my progress, how I can improve and how they can support those improvements.
It is nice seeing the theoretical concept that I've learnt in my lesson have practical, real-world use in the job that I do. Learning has added to the foundational basis of my understanding at work, allowing me to connect the dots and understand why things work the way it does.
Unilever has a culture of community and togetherness that really makes it a nice place to work at. There are many opportunities to build friendships with colleagues, such as a running club, company-wide charity events, and team ice cream meetings. And, as apprentices, there are frequent apprentice events and workshops.
