I help manage the digital media channels and campaigns for the medium marketing segment. On a typical day my job is to get ads live for campaign managers, monitor and interpret data on performance, feedback on campaign performance and assist with any other tasks that help the wider team function.
I have learnt many new skills and loads of new information, I now have a good understanding of both the digital channels we use and the marketing process in general. The team are really open and helpful and I’m regularly offered chances to get involved with different tasks or take responsibility on a project
As I have already done higher education I’m somewhat used to the process, the course and the training is pretty good but I feel the time it takes to complete the full course is notably longer than the time it takes to cover all the content comfortably. No complaints about the delivery
The program is straightforwards, 2 hour calls every other week with some tasks to complete after and an easy to understand exam structure at the end of the course. The 20% off the job learning time can be hard to fulfil though as there isn’t much content to cover
The support at sage has been fantastic both from onboarding and my immediate team, there’s nothing that I feel I can’t get help with and I’m confident that any issue or dilemma I find I can take it to someone and they will do everything they can to help me solve it
The support in the bi weekly calls is good, the trainer will explain anything we need help with and the lessons are easy to digest. Also the occasional catch up calls with her to check how the role is going and keep me on track with learning are very helpful
The qualification helps in that it’s teaching me the broader marketing concepts that I don’t always get to see in the role itself, not only helping me contextualise what I do day to day but also giving me the relevant skills to advance to the next level within the marketing field
Coming off covid lockdowns and restrictions there’s a notable dip in social activity generally so I don’t think that sage is any more impacted by it than other places I have worked, that said there have been multiple opportunities to meet and network with colleagues or partners as well as regular occasions with the team.
Yes
I think the atmosphere in the company is really positive, people have a good work ethic and genuinely want to help you. From what I have seen there are always career opportunities and chances to work with different teams and the company and people support you to help you to achieve your goals.
I think it’s important to show you’re sociable and positive, and not to be worried about how you’re going to be perceived. Sage really is a place where you get out what you put in so if you bring energy and positivity then you’ll get the same energy and support back
