  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • It involves a break down of what being a solicitor means and what it means to study the law. It also has helped me to develop key life skills including team work, confidence, time management and building my personal brand. There are also workshops involving looking after one’s mental health.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • In my opinion, I think the program is organised well and it is evident that the employers take into consideration the that we are doing our A levels and require different elements of the program at different times. Something I appreciated was tutoring in the months close to my exam.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes. Due to the pandemic we have had to attend mostly online sessions but there was an in person networking event in October and another set to take place in July with the previous ACCESS cohort.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Clifford Chance to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Something about Clifford chance which I liked is the people and the environment there as everyone is so friendly and genuinely wants to see you succeed.Hearing about the positive experiences of associates, trainees and previous access students especially in a competitive field like law was very encouraging.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Clifford Chance?
  • Advice I would give is to have non legal work experience. This is something I learned in my work experience with Clifford chance and there was a clear emphasis on skills development rather then solely legal work experience. It also helps to distinguish you from other candidates if you have a more diverse set of skills.
