It involves a break down of what being a solicitor means and what it means to study the law. It also has helped me to develop key life skills including team work, confidence, time management and building my personal brand. There are also workshops involving looking after one’s mental health.
Yes, many.Through our mock case study, I developed my team work skills and learned how to understand a legal contract and critically analyse for key points in a large document. I also learned how to manage my time and work most efficiently during our smarty workshop.
I absolutely enjoyed my time on the ACCESS program so far and am very excited to experience the next elements of the program. The experience Clifford Chance gives you is not just legal, they also encourage you to develop key life skills which is something I appreciate and have enjoyed.
In my opinion, I think the program is organised well and it is evident that the employers take into consideration the that we are doing our A levels and require different elements of the program at different times. Something I appreciated was tutoring in the months close to my exam.
I have received support from my employer every time I have asked for it and very promptly. If I email with a question or about a technological error I usually receive a response within the same day.
I would say quite alot of support in helping me to achieve my goal of becoming solicitor as I feel better equipped for the future because of my work experience with Clifford chance. I understand what life as a solicitor would entail and the process of how I would become one.
I would say that so far the information and help I’ve received from the firm has allowed me to improve my confidence and be very conscious of the importance of my personal brand. As an aspiring law student it has also been very helpful to have Clifford Chances name on my CV.
Yes. Due to the pandemic we have had to attend mostly online sessions but there was an in person networking event in October and another set to take place in July with the previous ACCESS cohort.
Yes
Something about Clifford chance which I liked is the people and the environment there as everyone is so friendly and genuinely wants to see you succeed.Hearing about the positive experiences of associates, trainees and previous access students especially in a competitive field like law was very encouraging.
Advice I would give is to have non legal work experience. This is something I learned in my work experience with Clifford chance and there was a clear emphasis on skills development rather then solely legal work experience. It also helps to distinguish you from other candidates if you have a more diverse set of skills.
